A foundation for understanding how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can shape behavior, how the nervous system responds to those experiences, and how reflection, regulation, and supportive relationships can strengthen resilience and improve outcomes for those affected.
Program purpose
From Roots to Resilience helps participants explore the roots of patterns without removing personal responsibility. This includes understanding how ACEs may influence behavior and the nervous system without defining who a person is. It creates space to understand what shaped us, recognize what is happening within us, and choose how we want to move forward.
The program brings trauma education, ACEs, nervous system awareness, mindfulness, and practical resilience skills into one accessible learning path.
Program structure
This is self-directed learning. There is no required completion time. Participants can pause, reflect, and return to the material as needed.
Explore ACEs, protective experiences, and the environments that influence development.
Understand how the body and mind respond to threat, uncertainty, and prolonged stress.
Recognize repeated responses while identifying the abilities and supports already present.
Practise reflection, breathing, grounding, and mindfulness tools that can support steadier choices.
Strengthen resilience through relationships, routines, values, hope, and purposeful action.
Bring the learning together in an individual plan for continued growth.
