You were the one person I needed most
as I struggled inside this prison.
But like the rest,
you left and went missin'.
You wouldn't take the time
to get to know me or listen.
Did you even believe me when I said
I made a change, I'm a Christian?
I needed someone to believe in,
but you were never there.
Did you not love me enough to reach out to me
and to show me that you cared?
No messages. No money.
No mail. No phone.
For the last 10 years,
I've been doing this on my own.
I guess it's true what they say:
"Out of sight is out of mind."
During my time of incarceration,
you've been hard to find.
Now, being happy and set free
is my manifest destiny.
And please believe me when I say,
you won't be there standing next to me!
